THE TWO MURALS CREATED BY THE YOUNG PEOPLE AT ACORNS HOSPICE IN 2010
AN ACORNS HOSPICE PATIENT DRAWING A RAPTOR, AND THE FINAL PRINT - 2011
Started in 1973, by NADFAS, Young Arts provides exciting
opportunities for children and young people to expand their horizons through
their involvement in creative arts activities. In 2009 we supported a very successful Young Arts Day at the Tudor Grange Academy. In 2010 we sponsored a professional artist to lead children and young people at the Acorns Hospice in creating two murals. These are shown above. In 2011 the same artist worked with other young people at the Hospice to create and print designs which, with our help, have now been published as cards, to be sold in the Acorns Hospice Shops. The achievements of these young people had to be seen to be believed - really worthwhile projects! NB: An article describing the creation
of the murals appeared in the NADFAS Review in Summer of 2011
