CHURCH RECORDERS 2011-2012
St. Mary's Church, Doverdale Church Recorders are NADFAS Volunteers who make records of the contents of our national churches, thereby promoting the recognition and preservation of the rich artistic heritage to be found in places of worship of all religions. Over 1600 churches have been recorded throughout the Country. The items are described in detail and their history researched. All the material is then compiled into a book illustrated with photographs and drawings. Copies of the book are sent to the V & A, the National Monuments Record at Swindon, The Worcester Record Office and the Cathedrals and Church Buildings Library at Church House. A copy is also presented .to the church. The CoWDFAS Church Recorders is a group of about 24. They have recorded St John Bedwardine, St. John Baptist Claines, St. Peter's Droitwich, St. Mary Magdalene Himbleton, St. James Oddingley, St. Andrew's Ombersley, All Saints Worcester, Old St. Martin's in the Cornmarket Worcester, St. James's Hindlip, St. Michael and All Angels Martin Hussingtree, St. Michael Salwarpe, St. Peter's Powick, St. Swithun's Worcester, St. Martin's Holt * and St. Bartholomew's Grimley*.
